JFC-TENNIS: Guide to Grip Sizes

A common question our staff at JFC-TENNIS get asked are what grip size they should have; hopefully this will answer your questions.
A good guide for telling which grip size you should go for is to hold a racket in your usual forehand grip - you should be able to squeeze a finger in, which touches both the end of your fingers and your palm.

UK 1 is sometimes known as 4 1/8 inches
UK 2 is sometimes known as 4 1/4 inches
UK 3 is sometimes known as 4 3/8 inches
UK 4 is sometimes known as 4 1/2 inches
UK 5 is sometimes known as 4 5/8 inches
Generally for most juniors it's UK 1 or UK 2 whereas most women go for UK 2 or UK 3 and for men the most common is UK 3 or UK 4.
UK 5 is for really big hands.
Another way to measure your grip size is to use a ruler. Line up the ruler on your palm, in-line with the intersection of the thumb and fingers. The length from there to the top of your ring finger (next to the little finger) is roughly the right size.
